Yes, I work here. Besides that fact, the atmosphere is very appealing. Happy hour Monday through Friday from 2pm til 8pm. Each of us (bartenders) have our own unique personally and bar tending style, so you're sure to always be in for a great time! Even when not slinging drinks behind the bar, I love to sit and chill with the regulars and tourists alike. Nothing better than drinks with soon to be friends :)

We ended up making this our bar of choice for our business trip. We found it close to our hotel and just our speed. There are not over-hyped specials or other promotions that detracted from the task at hand. We enjoyed talking to the few locals that joined us and the relaxed crowd. The prices were GREAT and it was a much needed respite from the bourbon street environment. I find this a great place, off the beaten path that is worth a visit.

A classic NOLA bar where you come to get your classic NOLA drinks. You looking for a Sazerac or Ramos Gin Fizz? This is your place. Looking for a daquiri? This is not your place. Make sure to come here during the holidays as the lobby is absolutely beautiful and a must see for every New Orleanian.

We were looking for somewhere to watch the Saint's, 49er's games. Like many others we thought it was connected to The Roosevelt Hotel (we were staying there for the weekend, so much so that we tried looking for it on Friday night and gave up! LOL. Just so its clear for those in Residence at the hotel - go outside on the University Place "Side" - where the Valet is - turn right and its just there. There is a couple of 50's American Cars parked outside. I don't know if I would call it a "dive" bar - its very clean, very friendly, good drinks and great bar food, all very reasonably priced. We enjoyed it, the only thing is its not popular for watching the game and I am not really sure why, they had several TV's, but it was just us and one other person. Will definitely go back, hopefully there will be a few more people in there next time.

Great food and drinks at a classic New Orleans establishment. They definitely know how to make a Sazerac or a Gin Fizz correctly, and the environment is excellent. It can be a real hopping place, and get totally packed with people. It's awesome, as long as you are willing to go into significant debt and sell your car to get a few drinks. I mean, crazy expensive, especially considering the city that it's located in. That said, I would definitely recommend, and would probably be back - provided there was a good enough reason, like a wedding, a party, and anniversary, or I won the lottery.

We were on our way to the Sazerac Bar at the Roosevelt and happened into here. How lucky were we! Roxanne is possibly the best bartender imaginable and her sazeracs were perfect. May never go to the Sazerac again.

Went to this venue for a Yelp event as I was passing through NOLA. Atmosphere was great, drinks were very good, food was excellent. I didn't try the oysters but everyone was raving about them. The drinks I took a couple of sips of were all off their house cocktails menu and were quite delectable. I'll definitely swing by next time I'm in New Orleans when I have time to sit down and enjoy the food more but based on the comments of the foodies around me and my own experience I'm pretty comfortable with a solid 5 star... which is saying something for NOLA.

Great spot to have a drink in Downtown NOLA. it's beautifully decorated around Christmas time. I proposed to my wife in the lobby. My sister got married there. So many happy memories in that place.

I stayed here soooooo I frequently visited the bar! Haha imagine that but anyways it was so convenient and just perfect for me while I was in town on a business trip. Myself as well as other members of the medical field found it to be very tasteful!

Great low-key bar near the French Quarter with a few TV's around the room, fairly good selection of standard bar fare (chicken wings, etc.) and delicious mixed drinks. Beer selection also offers something for everyone. Although I was a tourist myself, it seemed that the bar was mostly filled with locals who knew the bartenders. Worth a visit if you are looking to get away from the craziness that is Bourbon Street for a night.

I stayed at the Roosevelt hotel last weekend for the mnf game and we started most if our nights at this bar. This is a great place to chill and have a martini or speciality cocktail. The bartenders are dressed in white tuxedos and are very experienced. The drinks are on the pricier side but that's the price you pay to be in a classy hotel bar. There are stools at the bar and regular seating as well. Great place to take a date as well.

Ask for the bolt ocean play list. This bar tender in the 80 music shit show that we all know and love. She is by far my favorite bar tender in Nola. Love this hotel dive bar

Fun little bar. My husband and I stopped in when the rain came pouring down. Friendly staff, clean, and good music/drinks. Would be a good place to have a few drinks with some friends!

I admit I was confused. I thought this bar was affiliated with the Roosevelt Hotel. This wouldn't be a big deal, except it's not at all what you'd expect, considering its grande dame next door neighbor! Not that I don't this is kinda nifty. Roosevelt Hotel Bar, is, in fact, the complete opposite in vibe as is the neighboring swanky Waldorf Astoria property. As in, it's casual, cheap, slightly divey-ever so slightly divey (really, not at all divey if you consider some of the real NOLA dive bars). I'd call it the Jennifer Tilly, Ashley Simpson or Stephen Baldwin bar, but then I realize after reading Suzanne R's review, that there is absolutely no relation whatsoever between the two places. So the sibling metaphor is just wrong. What might sway your spending decision: you're going to be paying a heck of a lot less for a cocktail at this bar than at any bar inside the Roosevelt Hotel itself. That said, don't expect any sophisticated cocktail list either. Sometimes, though, you just want a vodka/soda, right? It's very inviting. There's plenty of room to sit at the bar or in the more loungey area surrounding it. Outlets under the bar mean that I might very well come back avec laptop on a slow night.

Any place that offers $1 drink specials in the CBD is going to get a good review from me! Friendly crowd and nice atmosphere. Heather makes great drinks and makes great conversation, just don't ask her to make you a Sazerac ;) There's a couple of flat screen TVs, table seating, and clean bathrooms. No music other than what's coming from the TV, though I've been told they're going to install a jukebox. Be advised, though the name is the "Roosevelt Hotel Bar" the bar is actually located outside of the hotel. The one inside the hotel is called The Sazerac. The RHB is a good option for your "pregaming" spot if you're meeing people at the Sazerac.

This place is pretty cool. It's not as uppity as it's name seems that it would be. There is food (I had the fries, because everything else was meaty), a beautiful bar, good drink specials, and a relaxed atmosphere. The bartender was a little over-eager to please, but he wasn't annoying. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because the bar seemed like more of an intimate-talk-to-someone kind of place, but the music was SO loud I couldn't hear my companion. The longer we sat there, the louder the music got. This place now accepts debit/credit cards.

As other reviewers have said, this is a different, but fun, place when compared to the Roosevelt Hotel next door. Laid back vibe, cool staff, good people watching on the street outside. And cheaper than a drink inside the hotel.

The perfect dive-bar next door to all the fancy hotels in the area. Great bartender, super-friendly owner, and a quality $3 mixed drink during the 4-8pm happy hour. Every city should have a bar like this. If I am ever back in New Orleans, I will definitely stop in again.

I consistently return here because the mixed drinks are so amazing. The bar tenders really know their stuff and are always so friendly and interesting to talk to. I don't know any other bars that keep fresh herbs on hand and know how to use them. I strongly recommend the Bloody Mary (even though I usually hate them) and to do a bartenders choice (based on your preferences of course).

Love this place! Great bartenders, cheap drinks, swanky but low-key atmosphere. I love having a place like this in the CBD where most bars are expensive and pretentious or dive-y, or close early. This place is just right. Plus there's always parking on the block after work which is AWESOME!!!!

Had a great time hanging out here on Sunday while killing some time between lunch and dinner. Watched a little football and had some killer bloody marys. Chelsea, the bartender, was a lot of fun. She put up with me and my friends for over 4 hours, which is a difficult task for most.
